Paul Chauvet of SUNY New Paltz will be talking about Distributed  & Centralized Authentication Systems including the Central Authentication Service (CAS) project from jasig, OAuth, OpenID, and SAML. The talk will cover why you should use distributed authentication, technical details about the implementations, security implications of this, and more.

Paul Chauvet is currently a systems administrator at SUNY New Paltz.  He handles the colleges virtualization and email, and is responsible for backups and data security.  He’s currently focusing on linking disparate systems through centralized authentication.  Paul has been with the LUG since the first year and now serves as our Publicity Officer.
